Gerry Hazel plays acoustic guitar and writes descriptive songs about social justice and life that tug at the heartstrings of anyone who values empathy and compassion. On This Day, written on the 4th of July, speaks to the division we live as a nation, and to the possibility of being united again. Love and hope seem to be recurring themes, whether it’s a song about love at first sight, devastating tragedy, or even the war in Aleppo.
A longtime fan of Pete Seeger, Gerry wrote Bullet vs. Banjo the day Pete passed away. If you know what Pete stood for and his strong convictions about helping others, you will see why this song is an audience favorite.
