Greg Greenway is a brilliant presence on the national folk music scene. His voice is pure, strong, and passionate. His writing is poignant and significant one moment, disarming and joyous the next. His artistry on guitar, piano, and ukulele reflect his roots  and inspirations from gospel, rock, blues, Jazz, and world music. And at his heart he is a messenger of social justice with the moral compass of a Woody Guthrie and the will to speak out for all people of all backgrounds. His is the poetry of freedom, justice and equality. His is the energy of sunshine.

Greg is known throughout the world as a member of Brother Sun, the supergroup he formed with colleagues Joe Jencks and Pat Wictor. Their aware-winning recordings and ovation-winning concerts were universally acknowledged as tops in the acoustic music scene. Greenway is also involved in Deeper Than Skin, a concert and presentation that explores their unique history as a White man from the capital of the Confederacy and a Black man whose maternal ancestor was a slave on a plantation just outside of Richmond.

The Folk Project has a long relationship with Greg and his music. That is no surprise, as he casts his amazing and talented light across the national acoustic music scene. It is great to welcome him back to the Folk Project stage – this time virtually.
