Dennison & Donahue are Folk Project favorites, a merging of the extraordinary guitar playing of Todd Dennison with the rare and poignant talents of singer/songwriter Annie Donahue. They combine traditional folk music and gospel with jazz influences to create a unique framework for Annie’s gorgeous melodies and soul-bearing lyrics. Their performances touch audiences with introspection, joy, and an almost meditative flight to where meaning, feelings, and sound meet.
Annie has a natural gift for conveying complex emotions with her simple, direct-to-the-heart vocal purity. Her moving and well-crafted messages of life, love, pain, and joy are delivered with creativity and intelligence. Todd is a sensitive craftsman – a brilliant guitarist whose complex arrangements provide a lush, but simple soundscape on which Annie’s voice is clearly defined and exquisitely supported. Together, their music is spellbinding.
