The Brother Brothers are Adam and David Moss, identical twins carrying on the folk tradition with minimal instrumentation, heartfelt lyricism, and harmonies so natural they seem to blend into one beautiful voice. Their butter-smooth close-harmony vocals and minimalist-yet-sophisticated arrangements weave a gentle bluegrass feel with an evocative lyricism that is timeless in sound and spirit. Their songs masterfully capture the human experience. Their sound is simply beautiful.
In 2011, David won the Newfolk songwriting competition at Kerrville Folk Festival. They credit their insightful lyrics to a love of people borne of their nomadic lives, having lived in so places – Austin, Boston, Peoria, and Brooklyn – and toured the country playing festivals and concerts from coast to coast. They opened on tours for Sarah Jarosz and Lake Street Dive, and played in Anaïs Mitchell’s stage production of Hadestown.
From age five, they were singing along with Kingston Trio, the Everly Brothers, the Beatles, and the Beach Boys. The result is seamless sonic perfection. Hear it on May 26th.
